Really the only thing I could find that had a visualizer is the psp but that would be too heavy to put on the A-bot. I checked to see if the ipod touch or iphone had a visualizer app and it doesn't .

sounds cool and all, but don't you think it's a bit... impractical? you need an MP3-player small enough to fit, yet with a big enough screen to fill the chest, sounds like a custom job, speakers shouldn't be too big of a deal, but I don't really know squat about it
as for backdoor pats, they're annoying when some guy says "hey! suchandsuch liked this! thanks!" and then you check the comments section to see what they said and you find nothing
i think the player I linked to is the perfect size, Now I just need one like that that plays with a visualizer
oh yeah, that thing does look about right, but the visualizer... well... I guess you could find someone to hack it and install custom firmware (if they can do it to the DS, they can do it to that thingy)

you're bound to find something, if worst comes to worst you could try... erm... I honestly have no idea, I'm not a gizmo geek, somewhere in the world there is probably something that might work

I guess theoretically you could rip the guts out of a normal MP3 player with a full-screen visualizer (while being careful not to damage any of the internals) and reassemble it to fit within the A-bot housing, I saw someone do it with an NES and a toaster housing so it should be possible, theoretically
At least if you give somebody a backdoor pat, you don't have to worry about random people thinking something well thought out you made is "useless".

Hi MC. One thing that you oculd look into is these T shirts that are semi-new, which have an audio equalizer on the front that responds to the sound around the wearer.

Obviously the equalizer from the shirt is too big for your model, but I thought i'd let you know anyway as a stepping stone. Maybe the company who makes them also make smaller versions... A thong version would be perfect for you... hah.

A-Bot would be a beast of a toy, MC. Can't help with the MP3 player/equalizer thing, unless you can get a separate LCD display made somewhere ... :/
Loving the idea that it'll be transformable. I was wondering if you were gonna tuck the arms behind the legs, and how the head was gonna stay up when in bot mode. I guess with the flat surfaces and hollow areas that plasticard may be your friend for this guy, though I've never used the stuff.

the head would go in a shaft with a spring, and you push down the head and flip a lid.
there arms are still up in the air. they will either go around that back like that photo (soundwave style) or left to the side (blaster style) then I would have panels from the legs to cover the arms.
but that all depends on how I do the visualizer and what kinda mp3 player I use.
