I watched this quite awhile ago...
So good...

I just want a superconductive material to be discovered that works at room temperature, so that all energy can used efficiently, and without pollution. But sadly... :(

yeah i saw that

I actually did a paper on this for college.

It's a damn shame.

I think we are going to see growth in electric car industries. Advancements in communication (internet *cough*) make it almost impossible for people to silence technology news like they used to.

But you're right, currently most electric cars are ass expensive..

I would love to get my hands on a Tesla Roadster

http://www.teslamotors.com/

*drool*

If that car had a vagina, I'd be all over that.

Very cool. I've always had an interest in finding creative energy sources.

Have you heard of microgeneration technology? It's using solar, wind, and various other energies to generate your own power. Houses and small buildings can be outfitted like this so that they actually produce all the energy they need. The interesting thing to note is that buildings that make more energy than they use in a month, instead of getting an electric bill, can actually get paid by the electric companies to put that extra power back onto the grid.

haahyeah I heard of that, Hopefully more and more people will research this tech and make it more consumer friendly.

i've been wanting an electric car for a while now, but i haven't the money or the license to get one.

a 15 year old's allowance ain't gonna get me jack shit. i need a job.

yeah but if you asked your mom to get this care they wouldnt have to worry about you speeding, or pay for gas, ever!! tell them now! :3

Your Best Bet would be General Moters. They have oil company affiliates, and the electric car would be an obstacle for them, so they simply buy our the electric auto company and have the cars taken to a junk yard to be smashed.

If that doesn't work, I did, I killed the car. You catch it in bed with the miata when you're out working, well not any more. She was such a lying bitch.... :'(

haha

Having an electric car would be great don't get me wrong but how do you charge it? I'm assuming you don't use 50+ AA's but do you charge it from a normal mains plug or a specialist adapter?

*motors
I didn't pay much attention to it, sorry. -_-'

Anything to get us off our dependency on foreign oil is a good thing.

And I disagree about the Human race not being able to alter the health of the earth on a catastrophic level.. I mean if we can breed new creatures, learn how to fly, and create weapons dangerous enough to level whole cities I say we have a lot to worry about and maybe we should be tree huggers.
You never know whatcha got til its gone.

Think about what mutations and germs we fight in our bodies, think about the wars that happen within us alone. not think about the planet, and the size of the universe .

The earth would sneeze us out like bad snot

Sorry MindChamber to burst your bubble, but electric cars may die out all together thanks to honda, who have aparently saved the world with thier new hydrogen fuel cell car. Its on sale in california, as its the only place with a hydrogen fuel pump station in the world at the moment.
its like a family saloon, and isnt super expensive, so if electric cars want to compete in later years they will have to be dirt dirt cheap :P
if your wondering hydrogen costs about the same as petrol per gallon, and is the most abundant element in the universe so no chance of that running out .....

and the only emitions is water :)

hope my input helped out in some way

wait, hydrogen cost the same as gas, and yet its abundant? why? also are they only sold in CA? I would love to see this car. Links?

You should watch "Zietgiest : Addendum" It covers this in a small section and many other things, that wind power and underwater power and geothermo power can actually power all of Ameirca if it was implented, the only reason they don't is cause then they'd stop making so much profit. Sucks huh. Anyways,

No widescale technological cars will be sold everywhere till the last drop of oil is mined.

yay.... way to think positive :(

Very true words man. I'll definetely have to see it. Is it on DVD or in theatres currently?

DVD I missed it in theaters .. it was really under the wire.

Lol, Love Tesla (Kickass Guy!) Hmm... I'm only 13 right now, and I wonder what cars of the future are going to be like. But also on a side note think of all the problem it could cause, such as: if it charges via plug, water could cause problems, wouldn't charge at night if by solar, among other things. But hey, gas explode and tons problems happen already, and what do I know I'm just 13 (seriously what do I know about cars?) - Cool!

you are 13 and you know who Tesla is? thats awesome

The issue around the EVs is cost, and that's why they are expensive. GM used lessons learned from the EV1 to help develop the Volt and it's E-Flex (not called Voltec) architecture., but it's still had to create new technology to make it possible. This includes helping to develop Lithium Ion batteries that are powerful and durable enough to last the life of the car. When the Volt goes on sale for the estimated $40,000, GM will still be selling it it at a loss. The price will come down as the price of manufacturing the equipment (particularly the batteries goes down.

I knew electric cars were around back then, but never looked in as far as why they stopped getting "produced". My thinking was "Well, gas was cheap then. Why would anyone need to be an electric car at that time?"

However, I'm also aware that big companies HAVE been known to purchase pattens, only to never use them and to make sure no one else could use them. Why? because it could jeopardize there current standings.

So much for self improvement.

In my opinion, without doing any research on this, or asking many people, America is a country run by dumb as fuck rich people who keep all there money to themselves or real smart evil rich people who spend money to take over and rule the world.... This has everything to do with your topic. I thought it did anyway. Hmm.

It was supposed to be about Gas keeping this Country in power and thats why 911 happend and why we went to war in Irac. Dumb stuff like that.

But again, hmmm.

RB

Ya, I have no concerns about the environment, not so much that we CAN'T fuck it up so much as there are so many people questing to fix it that the problem will be fixed in no time at all (on a relative scale). I'm so confident we won't destroy the environment that I'm more concerned about the next ice age.

because fuck rich people.

Your are right, but I've been told that the energy wasted to make a new car is worth 7 years of driving a normal gas car. So your almost taking a step back if you have a decent cr to start with.
