Also, something I was talking to Omega Phantom about before, it'd be wicked to have a well organized Hip Hop contest. There could be several different contests from sample and MC battles to time trials and beatboxing. I think we've got more than enough talent on NG to make it a pretty sick contest, it would have to be organized pretty tightly though.
ya I would have to talk it over with the audio mods to figure out a course of action, because as you said it could get crazy messy. But it would also be nuts!
Usually when I think of 'rap' and 'internet', 'fail' is the thought that usually follows, like when some wannabe 13 year old sticks some shitty lyrics on the forums or a Youtube link to himself badly imitating another artist. All the Internet gangsters who are quick to anger, talk shit and try to intimidate people reinforced that view.
When it comes to the actual music that is being produced by some of these artists...well my view has changed completely. I've listened to some of these songs and they're great, truly great. :)

And a thought ive been having is that the audio portal could use some more genres cause theres like 60 different kinds of metal and all you have is metal and some of it doesnt mix. and like rap and rnb get mixed up a lot. jus sayin
