ha! thanks orginally this game was 3 levels long and 6 bosses. the filesize wouldve been almost a 100 megs.

Aside from the lag in the middle of the game, this has to be one of the best games on newgrounds lately. I do not understand how people keep complaining that its too easy, I remember from your past game "Da Pink Knight", that people complained it was too hard at first, can people not make up their mind?

I noticed with the game that it takes a very long time to close out the window, like I was playing with mouse on the embeded NG screen and kept clicking out of it so I opened popup mode and just ran it against my desktop and when I went to close it the panel turned white and it took about a minute to disappear, I thought it was unresponding.

The art reminded me of Jet Grind Radio so it had some nostalgia in there, it seemed cell-shaded so I was enjoying it from the start. My only grievance is that it is hard to tell if I have been hit, theres always that struggle to dodge things with the z-axis kind of side scrollers but I had trouble telling why I was losing so many points. Maybe a bigger electrical shocky noise when you get hit?

It's a great game though, I'll have to play it some more and get the medals.

ya I agree, its always tuff to know when something has enough "readablility" maybe the shock sound could be louder or the music lowered.

I just played through it a few times and I think i got robbed on a 49th bounce because I swear I got 50 but I'm not 100% sure. I really don't like how the combos combine, I would rather bounce a single guy 50 times than have to try to get 5 guys afloat for 10, even with the triple blaster the last guy always seems to touch down since the other guys absorb the shots. Oh well.

I ran it again and I noticed the boss starts out really laggy, is there a lot of normal flash files in that part? It cooled down after a while but everytime he moved to rush me and when he stamped his feet before a rush it would move down to what seemed like 4-5fps. The smoke trail he leaves when he rushed forward seemed to only change shape 2 times before disappearing.

Still love the game though, will play more.

thats a first, normally the boss stage is pretty smooth. I would suggest playing in a popup window if you havent already.. the flash ads on the page actually do effect the game.

Anyways, great game. Worth the loading time.

I would like to add to my review; you know the wall/barrier section of the story mode? One way you could up the ante is if you solidified the collision detection to the point where you're NOT getting through that wall unless it's through the weak point. As in, it drags you back, and when you're offscreen, you die.

To up the ante even further? Weak points in the barriers you have to jump to reach. This way, you're not penalized for hitting the wall on accident, but you're penalized if you don't adapt, and find a way around it to get through by means of insta-kill.

That'll show the crybabies.

In my review, I never made it to the boss-fight...I'd complain that his pattern is too simple, and it's a pretty big time-pad; He lacked attack diversity.

One of the most perfect boss-fights I've played in a flash player was from Da Pink Knight, because he adapted directly to what you were capable of. His attack diversity was broad, and he did a pretty successful job in keeping you down, preventing you from winning. He was challenging, but not impossible. With Col-Lab, I didn't feel like I was challenged...if anything, he kind of felt like a mid-boss, not unlike in Mega Man games where you fight a robot that's slightly larger than usual before the real boss fight.

This in no way is an insult; you guys still did a great job on M-Bot, and it's revolutionary for flash games on many levels. For all of it's faults, it's still fun to play....and even though I bitch about Col-Lab not being challenging, I still died on that play-through, and I haven't acquired a single medal yet (Additional replay value!). But based on your experience in game developing, I'm expecting something pants-filling in the future.

Hey thanks for the follow up. I defintely agree Mbots a walk iin the park compared to our other ganes, we just wanted to make sure it was playable by all this time around seeing how the gameplay and angle of the game was so odd. Collob wass defintely more of a traditional. Attack pattern type boss. Our next bosses will defintely use the rubberband mechanics of pink knight.

In the future games will have two run thrus, Pussified editions and hardcore!

Very repetitive, and plus, my reviews keep getting deleted even when i provide nonvulgar constructive criticism, so this gets a 0 from me.
Maybe if the M-Bot stopped removing reviews that comply with the review criteria.
In other words, the concept is stale

also the people who say it takes hours to load. Took me like 6 seconds to load it. They should be calling their computers or internet service shitty, not the game.

One thing I find funny though, is how I can load every single thing on NG except for Pico's Unloaded. Even from different houses. Maybe the movie just hates me or something.

Pretty fun game, but I've just been wondering, did this game replace Rise of P-Bot? Because the enemies are the same as the ones that would be in Rise of P-Bot. Did it get canceled, or is Rise of P-Bot simply the other game you said you were making with Frostedmuffins?
