I figure not every episode will be actionpacked you need that downtime to add story.

Im loving the more detailed backgrounds, the humor parts are just a bit off, and some tighter voice acting would go a long way in this dept.

Looks like you went more for story on this one than action which is cool, but in all honesty the story isnt the greatest, so you should keep to your orginal format of interlacing the story into the action.

No on watches a Kung fu flick for the story ^_^
