I have yet to see the film, I'm afraid I won't understand any of it, not seeing the cartoon. I'm gunna wait for it to be on TV, atleast I won't be paying for it that way.
It looked like shit, and I thought it was a horrible idea, do we seriously need to make an awesome oldschool cartoon look like an F-Zero knock-off??

It's so true! I've seen it eight times in four weeks! It's on my iPod even.
the speed racer movie... was odd. although the story was suprisingly good, that was perhaps the only extreamly good part.
As for acting most of the acters were ok, a few good onesm but the rest were pretty crappy actually.
and lastly the animation, was a peice of shit. now before you tear me a new one I can explane myeslf. first off the cars spent more time goining sidewas than every vehical in Tokyo Drift combind x 10 honestly. that s just bed animation right their.
I do understand that it's suppost to be heavely anime, but even that is no excuse. also in the terms od animation the cars look too plastic, even when they got dammaged, it looked like the gloss was striped, the dammage painted on, and then it looked as if some one reglossed it. thats just bad modeling and mapping.
the tumble and wrecks of the vehicals were awful as well. if you notice in the desert when speed wrecks the tow girls in mid air and they go end over end. Check out that scene again, ehen they cars come to a stop their should be a fast in slow out wiht some recoil. but they lacked the, and because of that it breakes the illusion of reality, again a big no, no for 3D animators.
as for bad moves in the acting, watch the truck scene in the beginning, when the simi startes swerving, no body in the trailer seems to have any trouble standing, this is very wrong, many people have trouble just standing up in a moving vehical much less a trailer of that size.
so as a story I like it and some of the acting is ok, but the rest of it was very badly done.
lol your the only one that said they liked the acting, also the 3d was perfect for this movie, they obviously didnt want realism, and these animators and modelers are the same ones that worked on the matrix triology, so they know more about this than you or I could ever know. everything in this movie was artist preference. you can say you dont like it but you cant say it was done wrong
