I fuckin Love dubstep

Posted by MindChamber - November 19th, 2011

Here I am halfway through my life cycle and Im dont think Ive ever been as invested into a single genre/style of music as much as dubstep. What the fuck is it? I love all the old songs from my time, but never has a type of music spoken to me as directly as dubstep.

Its the sounds of robots talking, its a subliminal intergalactic message from Aliens, what ever it is, it makes my hairs stand on end, my eyeballs roll back, and my chest hurt.

when dubstep samples contemporary music it files it down to a nice sharp polish. Most of the time pulling out the very essence of the song thats lost its meaning by the time its even released

Then it takes that pure crystal of emotion smashes it to the ground and chains it back together for its own nefariousness means.

To me the soundscape of dubstep is a glitched out, wobbled mirror world of our dull existence. A surreal world of magic and purity, that can be seen and felt without drugs (though Im sure they help).
Sometimes, it makes me extremely angry, or extremely sad, and even at times invincible. I never saw my self as bi-polar but play some dubstep, and I start glitchin in and out of emotions faster then a broken NPC in LA Noir.

The sounds used in dubstep not only pleases but physically moves me, It's probably the closest feeling Ill get to being hit with magic from Wizards we only read about in our fairytales.
With each wobble, growl, push ,glitch and reverb, I feel my soul pulled from my body, then slammed backed so hard my lungs are pushed up my chest.
I finally understand what it must've felt to be one of those fainting Micheal Jackson fans at a concert.
While I have yet to pass out from the sheer power that is dubstep, it does tend to build up in me , the pressure tighter than diving 30 feet underwater. I usually have no choice but to yell out WHOOOOOO, like Cole train from gears of war, in order to relieve the pressure.

Some say dubstep is just a type of DJing and not a form of music, and for some that may be.

But for those producers that know the magic of dubstep, the ones that know how to do it right.

They are more than producers, they are the messengers of Gods.

I fuckin love dubstep.

Epic Sax guy
Take Me away

and the list goes on.

Dunno if you saw this, but I thought the glitchiness of the music fit so well with the visuals:

<a href="http://vimeo.com/24069938">http://vimeo.com/24069938</a>

that was fuckin amazing

Yeah, I hear you about the robot stuff, but I usually consider it as a walk.
This being a robot walk, there's other rhythmic stuff happening, like pistons moving in and out, cogs whirring and valves releasing gas.

When the beat drops, the robot transforms.

Try these:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_2Z32qCYBg">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_2Z32 qCYBg</a>
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EHTiKSdOEw">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EHTiK SdOEw</a>

that claire one was really nice and trance-y

great stuff

Couldn't sound more like robots talking than this.
Invaders (Atomic Rmx) - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_-7pj7yJ-I">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_-7pj 7yJ-I</a>
Makes me imagine buildings being destroyed at night.

A less known Skrillex track
Just Believe - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAYImitTGZc">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAYImi tTGZc</a>
Not sure if it's an unreleased leak or something, but worth checking out nonetheless.

This one's completely different, but equally awesome.
Death (Chase & Status Rmx) - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG1gmTKVyRQ">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG1gmT KVyRQ</a>
It's unusually relaxing for a dubstep song, if that's even possible.

Fuck it, I'll throw this one in, too.
